i am trying to create a new skin for my bebo page the one i have just now the main_bg is about double the size that bebo is allowing me to do, it has an image and all my writting is under the image... when i load up my new skin the writting is going over the image and i want it under and double the size like the one i have just now also i would like to change my text colour cause my new background is white... please if anyone can help ta much x x x

and to change text colour, when on edit stylesheet, change the font colour under the 'MAIN SECTION'

How do I size a picture so it will be 760x375 so I can make a skin for bebo?
Open a new canvas in Paint, go to Image - Attributes and make it the size you want. Compare that to your image; if you stretch it it will be distorted.
You can colour the background, then open your photo in a new canvas, select it, then cut and paste it onto your coloured background. Drag it to the centre. Save it as a jaypeg.
Or you can upgrade to PaintdotNet for free, it uses layers and gives you more editing features.

Can anyone tell me how to create a skin for bebo easily?
You will need a good program to edit pictures and graphics but i just use Paint which comes with all Windows 95-XP Machines because it is so simple, all you need to do is get the right measurements (which i will tell you in a minute) and the pictures you want for your skin.
Here are the measurements you will need to make your Bebo Skin:
Main Background (main_bg) - 760 x 375
Navigational Background (nav_bg) - 760 x 40
Module Header - (module_head) - 375 x 44
Module Background - (module_bg) - 375 x 50
Main Icon (main_icon) - 20 x 20
Main Footer (main_footer) - 11 x 15
Module Line (module_line) - 32 x 3
Now your probably thinking well what is the Main Background and the Module Footer etc… well this is what they are:
Main Background (main_bg) - This is the main part of your skin, this is the front page picture.
Navigational Background (nav_bg) - This is at the top of your page which features All, Comments, Blog…
Module Header - (module_head) - This is the Header for all your Comments, Blogs and Photo’s etc…
Module Background - (module_bg) - This is the Bottom for all your Comments, Blogs and Photo’s etc…
Main Icon (main_icon) - These are the little icons that are underneath your profile picture.

If You would like to make an Animated Skin then you will have to do exaxtly the same but you cannot use Paint as it does not support moving .gif files, you will need to download something like: Animation Shop, Paintshop Pro, Fireworks 4 etc… (You must save your moving skins as a .gif file or they will not animate!!)

It's usually because something's wrong with bebo or you did something wrong with the skin. Reread the instructions to make sure you did it right.

I need help on making a skin on bebo!!!?
okay, i'm in the middle of making a skin and i'm just down to uploading it. i have uploaded the 'nav_bg' perfectly fine because i made it on that adobe photoshop. but now i'm down to the other ones which i made on microsoft paint. at first it told me the dimensions were incorrect and that it had to be 760x375, so i fixed that and now it says that the file size is too large. what do i do?
do i have to do it all again on the adobe thing?

you can resize, blur, frame, convert to different format just use advanced on the website!
maybe try it in .GIF , .JPG, or BMP

the max size for part of it is 40k but mine is a bit over. it needs to have certain dimenstions so if i make it smaller that way, i cant use it. i just need to like reduce the k (or whatever it is) without reducing its actual size. i have photoshop if that helps.

Out of all of those press the one that says change skins..Then look right above where it says Featured Sponser Skins then it should say:

Then its going to show a list of skins or empty titles you have done then you select the skin you want to work on by clicking upload Graphics then 7 empty slots show up then you open a paint just normal paint if you want and then go to image at the top bar in paint and go to attributes...and enter the size that is on bebo under the slot and after you do all that and upload your Graphics...go to Edit style sheet and do the padding how ever large or small you want it then preview and if you are not happy with it then keep changing it around then add it to favorites when you are done you can share it with people so that can also use the skin or you can just keep it for yourself.!!!! so there it is well thats the best i can do for now.

i have made loads of skins but the one im making to day every time i upload the main backround it says::main_bg file size is too large. Actual is 62190, maximum allowed is 40000, please rectify and upload again im useing paint shop pro to make the skin and saving it as JPEG if you know how to rectify please tell me....

no equipment is neccesary you can do it all on paint but you can download jasc paintshop on limewire for free, they are loads better.Basically you just make different sections like the header for example, if you were doing a harry potter one you could just do a black bar with "The magic lies within you".Then you upload them into the correct place and bingo!You have a skin.

i got this off another person who made it but i cant remember and i lost it.

i know how to make skins for my bebo but i uploaded a part of it and it came up with this message ...

Rectify doesn't mean shorten (sorry Dan!) - it means to put right; so basically what it is asking you to do is 'rectify' (i.e. sort out) the problem by shrinking the file size. You can either choose a smaller image for the skin, or reduce the file in quality - this should be an available option in the edit menu.

Reply:what you should really be trying to do is compress them, if you have Microsoft Photo editor, you could load the picture, click save as, and at the bottom of the window that appears click more, this will let you see the extra options when saving your files, set the compression rename the file then click save.
This option is also available in other drawing programs, unfortunately it is not available in windows paint.

You need some 'be' and an equal amount of 'bo' , heat resistant glue: carefully smear the 'be' with glue do not, under any circumstances, smear the 'bo' first otherwise you end up with bobe skin and that's just awful. I know because I've done it, I felt such a fool. Anyway when you are happy with your smear skin them up and even if your photo's don't come out you won't care.

Making a skin on bebo is pretty simple.
You can use paint, lunapic.com, or whatever free online program to edit the size of your picture that bebo requires inorder to upload or resize them on paint.
A profile skin is a lot harder though.
But it uses the same skill as a mail skin.
You can also look for what you want by creating it or searching the web for pictures.

Who nos how to make a bebo skin ???????????????
yeh i make them....
the best thing to download is animation shop 3...
search on google for a free trial...
once you've downloaded it open up the program..
click file then new...
then minimize that program %26amp; go onto internet...
now on bebo click "change skins" which is under your main photo...
then "roll your own"..
then "read our detailed specification"
look at the dimesions bit...
type those dimensions into the "new" %26amp; click ok...
then play with colours %26amp; put writing on etc.
then give it its name %26amp; save it into a folder you remember its in...
once you've done all of the dimensions for the objects...
click roll your own again..
click create new skin..
give it a name %26amp; tags..
then click upload graphics..
upload the backgrounds %26amp; headers that you made...
if one couldn't upload because it was too big of a capacity it means theres too much colour or writing on it...
once all graphics have been uploaded succesfully click edit stylesheet this is just for the background colours %26amp; font colours...
to make a gap between the NAV BG %26amp; your main profile for writing put padding top on stylesheet to 300...
once you've previewed it %26amp; like the way it looks click use skin %26amp; choose if you want everybody to be able to use it or just you..
then click add to favourites..

7) Then there will be a bit about height and width. You will need to put the dimensions that it says on the bebo uploading page. E.G 760x40 for the nav_bg you will need to put 760 in width and 40 in the height box.
8) on paint the size should change to a wide bar. Then start to create your skin.
9) Once you have done that top bar go to file, save as, name it Nav_bg and MAKE SURE THE FILE TYPE IS JPEG!!

The Bebo layout is somewhat limited to what you can do with it. All in all, it will still have a common cookie-cutter design.
With the feature 'Roll Your Own', Bebo gives you an option to build up over top of custom skins to give you a bit of personalization.
You can see the graphic changes available:

This will give you detail to what goes where and the size requirements. They even offer a basic tutorial how to make raw pieces here:

it depends on what programmes you have. You need to have a programme that can crop and resize images. It will tell you the sizes u need. then u need to make image files with the correct names and images sizes and under the right size limits. heres my bebo url http://www.bebo.com/hu_hu_cool

The definition of 'best' really depends on your artistic endeavors and basic graphic manipulation skills. I don't know what to suggest for ease as most photo editors require patience and somewhat of an intermediate skill. you need a graphics software package. paint shop pro is one, Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks MX, i use photostudio 5.5 to make them, once you have the software and the pictures you want to have on your bebo skin, you'll find out the skin specification on the bebo website, when you click on change skins on your profile, click on roll your own (or become a featured bebo skin artist or whatever it says)above the now available skins. on that page click on read our detailed specification (under "sounds like a lark, how do I get started?".)
then the fun begins
in your software package you have to resize (under edit - image size)all the images you collected for your skin according to the Dimensions which are stated there on bebo's skin specifcation page (width x height pixels) and you have to save the picture under the required file name stated there aswell, any other name and it won't upload it. there is 7 files needed which you will see on the page. after doing all that, you go back onto the skin specification page and click on add a new skin, you name it, tag it, and start uploading your files. the first time I did it, it said the files were too big despite the fact I used the demensions they gave me.

If you go on bebo it actually shows you. Go to change my skin, then click on roll your own. They give you instructions. You can use paint to make it.

If you go on bebo it actually shows you. Go to change my skin, then click on roll your own. They give you instructions. You can use paint to make it.

personally I use Photostudio 2000 SE...not the best program but it works.

The Bebo layout is somewhat limited to what you can do with it. All in all, it will still have a common cookie-cutter design.
With the feature 'Roll Your Own', Bebo gives you an option to build up over top of custom skins to give you a bit of personalization.
You can see the graphic changes available:

Firstly, I would suggest you find a supplied/donated layout with nice text colors and an overall design to start as a base and then all you would need to do is fine tweak it to your liking. You can always browse profiles and take which one you like by using the 'Use this Skin' on their profile. I don't necessarily agree that my own customized profile is available to everyone else, but that's the way Bebo operates on their server. Oddly, they still warn about copyright material, but don't request that you ask before you use someone's personal layout. Quite frankly, everyone's profile is up for grabs via the public 'Use this Skin' feature.
As far as designing in Paint, it's far too limited. I don't have Picasa 2 either. I have about 1g worth of photo editing programs and I'm constantly falling backwards in need of tutorials. I don't know what to suggest for ease as most photo editors require patience and somewhat of an intermediate skill.

You should try being more specific in your request. I have no idea what a bebo skin is. I tried doing a search, and it brought me to a site where it bogged down my cpu to 100% and it took me 5 minutes just to close the site. It looked to me like it was just a background of some sort. Find out the file type, then you should have some clues on how to make it. Perhaps there are size restrictions too. Take a known example and figure out the size. Now you should be able to take what you've learned and try to make your own.

3. Upload it (upload main_bg.jpeg from your computer into the main_bg box). Make sure it fits the size or you'll have to re-do it.
4. When you're finished uploading, edit your style sheet.
5. When you've finished, go back to the "roll your own" tab and find the desired skin and click "use this skin."
6. Click on "submit to be featured."
Just be warned that Bebo chooses the best of the best to feature. I've learnt from past experience (*tear*).
